It’s said a person dies twice… once when they stop breathing and second when there is no one left to remember/say their name. I’d say our genealogy researches are an attempt to avoid the latter and perhaps to pay homage to some.
For those who are new to genealogy, a word from the ones who have done this for decades. Genealogy research is an ongoing journey, process, and learning experience. You may never have all your questions answered. You may find answers you wish you hadn’t. You may find the unexpected. You just keep plugging away.
Our searches take us to places we would never have visited otherwise.
Enjoy the journey,
Ann Cushman
