As 2013 comes to a close for the ACGS, I hope that everyone who attended a meeting came away with information that would helpful to them in their future research. That is the principal goal of our group, to help each other further the research of their family tree.
I would like to thank my officers this past year:
Orlan for the monthly articles in the newsletters as VP,
Frances for the excellent and informative record keeping and minutes including the Bits and Bites hour, There is more information given and received during that first hour than in the second hour of the meeting and there is always something that we all can relate to.
Jay for keeping the dollars and cents, numbers and membership straight,
Heather for getting our web site up to date,
Dennis, Ann, Brenda and Allen for their continuous work on the 1790 project,
Gail and Linda for their work on next year’s Northern Maine Fair display,
And all the others who just attend our meetings and gave me support and informative suggestions and tried to keep me in line, I know that most of you have given the “keep me in line” job to Dennis and he has done a fair to middling job in that category, I believe.
I would like to thank you all for the chance to be your president this past year with only 6 years of experience and hope I have lived up to your expectations, sometimes, as we moved forward.
Finally, may you all have a Happy Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas and a fruitful New Year.
