The Maine State Library has received a grant to digitize 100,000+ pages of historical Maine newspapers. It’s a 2 year project and the content will be available online at digitalmaine.com and the Library of Congress Chronicling America archive at chroniclingamerica.loc.gov. They intend to digitize papers printed before 1923 if there are available master microfilms. They will have to give priority according to historical value and geographic coverage etc.. Book scanners will be used for bound volumes.
