As further reference to what was in my president’s message… I heard part of a story on NPR of a non-profit which needed volunteers to take care of an old Victorian cemetery in Philadelphia. They thought they’d get 20 and ended up with 75 volunteers. The next year they had 250. They’re giving gardening lessons for planting on the graves and training volunteers to use the genealogical libraries to research those buried there. That’s one way to get people interested in genealogy.
