Odds and Ends

Ann Cushman provides a marvelous resource of odds and ends and tidbits and stuff from the unusual to the amusing. In between, you might find a clue or a new source of information to aid your research.

From speaking to the Maine State Library genealogy reference specialist B.J. Jamieson I found out you can access MyHeritage from your own home through your local library.

Go to your library home page. Look for Digital Maine Library and click on MyHeritage. Scroll through their alphabetized listings and click on MyHeritage (Library Edition). When you get to “select resource” click on MyHeritage Library Edition, not what it says in the circle. You’ll be able to do a search. They may have done some of their own indexing and you may find things you can’t find on Ancestry.
