The National Library of Ireland will be putting 390,000 images of Catholic parish register microfilms online by summer 2015. This will be mainly baptisms and marriages between the 1740s and 1880s. This includes 1,091 parishes throughout Ireland. The census records for this time were destroyed by fire during the Irish Civil War.
There are fewer than 35 children of Civil War veterans still alive. They were born in the 1910s and 1920s of fathers in their 70s and 80s and their young brides. There are heritage groups that keep track of them.
