I am trying to unravel mysteries related to the Cushman Family.

According to the 1870 agriculture census, Sullivan Cushman was a farmer in Oakfield, ME. He was married to Clarissa Tribou who died in 1860 of consumption. She is buried in the Brookvale Cemetary in Auburn. I am trying to determine when Sullivan died and where he might be buried and if he had a will. Since he had land, I would’ve thought that he would’ve had a will. I would like to see the will, as that might determine if his son Solomon is still alive or if he left anything to Solomon’s widow, Maria Hawes or his children.

There is an 1870 Federal census from Auburn that indicates that Solomon Cushman is living with Maria and children Julia and Rhoda (who is only a month old). The age for Solomon Cushman (who was born in 1830) is incorrect, it looks more like the age of Sullivan Cushman. I’m trying to figure out what happened to Solomon and Maria, and if I can find either of their birth certificates (as this leads to Mayflower lineage). It is possible that Solomon Cushman we

Julia Alice Cushman went to live with her aunt Mary E Cushman Schoppe in New Hampshire by 1880, but I don’t know what happened to her mother or sister. I did find a census for 1880 (Schedule for Defective, Dependent and Delinquent Classes) that may have a listing for Rhoda, who would’ve been only 10 at that time. Julia is my gg grandmother.

Any light you can shed on the Cushman family…or the Hawes family (I can’t seem to figure out who Maria Hawes’ parents are. I just know that she was born in Maine)…will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!
