I am searching for information regarding William Henry Lester (alias William Henry Fisher, alias William Henry Miller, alias William Henry Lister). Aliases are derived from his mother having been married several times due to husband’s death or divorce. He was allegedly born in Nova Scotia, Canada around 1887 (+/- 3 yrs). He listed his mother on a Social Security record as Ellen Baird which may be her last surname through marriage. He supposedly had a first cousin named James (Jim) McDonald). He lived in Caribou, Maine until age 15 at which time he left home due to an argument with his stepfather (about 1902) and joined the US Army by lying about his age. He never returned home and rarely talked about his Maine family members left behind. All information given is oral history except Social Security record. Searches have yielded little except an Ellen Baird buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Aroostook County per Find-A-Grave. No information on any family members left behind. Ida Lister McLaughlin a long time resident of Aroostook county helped me occasionally until her death. I abandoned the search since her death until I found your site. I have hit a brick-wall. I can not verify any oral history as my father and his siblings are now deceased. My question…Does any one have a missing relative in their family history with the names that I have provided?
I was unable to find any thing of you William of many surnames. I can tell the Ellen Baird of Caribou is not the mother of your William Henry.
