I am trying to find the names of the parents of Mary (MICHAUD) Godreau who was possibly born in New Brunswick, Canada circa 1853 in the Madawaska region. She married Amable (Mike) Godreau in Grand Sault, Acadie, Canada 28 Oct 1873. The church records do not record the name of her parents nor the name of Amable Godreau’s parents. Circa 1885 the Godreau family moved to Limestone, Maine and they also lived in Fort Fairfield, Maine where two of their children were born. Mary (Michaud) Godreau died in 1897 and is buried in Limestone, Maine. According to her death certificate her father’s name is Frank. This certificate is probably incorrect. According to another family member, Mary’s father’s name was Isaac Michaud. Is there any evidence out there showing the name of her father?

Marie aka Mary is the daughter of Isaac Jacques Michaud b. 1804-d. 1880 and his wife Suzanne [Susan] Consigny dit Sansfacon b. 1813-d. 1893. Mary was born Sept. 19, 1853 in Van Buren, Maine. She christened the next day Sept. 20, 1853. She has a twin sister Anastasie. Her mother is called Susan Cormier not Consigny on church record.. This because when Susan Consigny was young girl her mother Marie Cormier died. Her father Louis re-married and short after his second marriage there was house fire and most of Suzanne brothers & sister died. She and 1 older sister then when to live with their maternal grandparents the Cormiers. In 1872 parish census for St. Bruno Catholic church done in Jan. 1871. Isaac & Susan are listed and Mary is with her parents with her illegimate daughter Claire b. 1871 (Claire father is listed in census as be a Jean Sirois). Mary married to Joseph Gagnon in April 27 1872 in Van Buren at St. Bruno’s.Joseph must died soon after the marriage because she then marries Amable GAUDREAU on Oct. 28, 1873 in Grand Falls New Brunswick. In 1881 census for St Leonard Parish, New Brunswick. Amable and Mary are listed. The family shows Claire age 10 as Gaudreau and then the children Amable & Mary have together at that point. Anastasie 5, Peter 3, Frank 2 & Agnes 1. After 1884 they move to Limestone, Maine. There are at least 4 more children for Amable & Mary: Philias, Charles, Cyprien and Alice. Amable is called Mike when moves the USA.
