Dear ACG,
I’ve been researching my genealogy and can’t find any information on the parents of an ancestor – any help would be appreciated greatly.
Name: Wallace L Raymond
possibly “Wallace Elizabeth Raymond” according to something on Ancestry.com
Born ~1860, possibly in Presque Isle
Spouse: Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie” McQuinn (1858–1907)
Probably Died in Ellsworth, Maine.
Any leads appreciated,
Kindly,
Joshua Raymond
Josh this is my last answer to your question.
John Earle Raymond father of Wallace Lorenzo Raymond.
Is son Lemuel aka Samuel Raymond. who was bp. on May 6, 1759 in Harpswell, Maine d. Jan. 1835 in Vassalboro Maine.
Lemuel used the name Samuel has he had a cousin also named Lemeul born in August of 1759. So that the two were not being confused.
Lemuel Samuel son of Paul RAYMOND from Rochester, Massachusetts and his wife Abigail PATTEE. And the grandson of William RAYMOND and Tabitha EDWARDS

Wallace L. Raymond Obit. can be found in Ellsworth American in Wed. Jan. 23 1929 paper on page 4 It states that his are John Earle Raymond and Mary Elliott and that born in Presque Isle
his death notice is found in Portland Evening Express on Jan. 17, 1929 page 2.
In 1870 census for Presque Isle the origanl Federal Census copy was lost and Washington D.C. request a copy of state cpoy for Presque Isle. which send into Bureau. The County/State copy contain addional information . It asked if born in state where you place birth: John E. Raymond state born in Bowdion Maine. In 1820 census for Bowdion there only are Raymond Household that of Lemuel Raymond. So to continue for research you’ll need check the records of Bowdion and in particle the Family of lemuel Raymond. By the way Wallce died in Portland, Me. and body send to Ellsworth to be intern next to his first wife and infant son. Also near his brother William Alonzo and parents John and Mary all in Woodbine Cemetry.

Give the fact that Lemuel heads the only hosehold in 1820. Good chance that Samuel is a son Lemuel Raymond & his wife Hannah Earl.. Lemuel age would make him John Earle grandfather.
