Hi – Oh where to begin…

My Hamill ancesters have been in Aroostook County (Amity, Ft. Fairfield and Presque Isle) from around 1860 that I know of. I believe the parents stayed their entire lives although I haven’t found death records.

I have seen Hamill spelled various ways: Hammell, Hammill, Hamill

Father James;b-1825, wife Isabelle(Elizabeth); b-1837; both from Ireland; Catholic

8 children born from 1860 to 1879.

The only birth records I have been able to find are for Fredrick;b-1879 and James; b-1863. Both ore either copies of old record or filed well after birth. I don’t know what churches they may have used to find parish records.

Son James spends some time in New Brunwick, marries in 1895 and has 3 children there. They are in NB on the 1911 Census.

I am trying to find James, wife Annie (Maggie) and daughter Lena (Helena) b-1902 after that. I know daughter Isabella married in Presque Isle in 1920 at Holy Nativity Church. She is 22 and lists Presque Isle as her residence. Son Arthur is married and living in New Brunswick. I also know that in 1930 father James is with Lena in Rumford, ME.

I really would like to find them; especially church records for birth and deaths, but I don’t have any idea what Catholic churches they might have used other that Holy Nativity and I can’t find anything on that church.

If anyone can give me a direction I would really appreciate it.

Lisa
