Irish civil registrations began in 1864 for births, deaths, and Catholic marriages. Non-Catholic marriages started in 1845. You’ll need to know the parish for birth records prior to 1864.

Maine was a district of Massachusetts from 1647 to 1820. In some Massachusetts documents, it may be referred to as “The eastward,” “Eastern Lands,” or “Eastern Parts.”
