I am researching my GR GR GR Grandfather Elias Brown who came to Eaton Grant in 1839 He recorded there on the 1850 and 1860
Census Records. To the best of my knowledge he was born 12 Aug, 1792-1795 New Brunswick, Canada and was married to Betsey/Elisabeth
Chase/Porter12 May 1883 Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada. I would like to find more definite information on his birth, his parents, where he/they came from and to find out his
death record. I am not sure if he is buried here or in Canada, I have found information stating that his son my GR GR Grandfather went back to
Canada for a few years before settling in Woodland in 1867.

Elias Tidd Brown was born at Fort Presque Isle (modern today Florencevillee, Carleton county, New Brunswick, Canada he died in April 1870 In Lyndon Now present day Caribou, Aroostook, Maine, USA. He is the son of William Brown and Elizabeth Tidd

Simon born 1799/1800 have not found a baptized date for him based based on census records.

Elias Tidd Brown married Betsy Chase 12 May 1823 in Woodstock, Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada she also call Eizabeth as middle age woman.
Elizabeth was born about 1800 her in early census records. in her old age her age jump from 1800 to 1790. But looking at the span of her children the early census on about 1800 make more since.
Elias and Elizabeth had the following known chidren
Sarah b.1824-c. 1900 married John Cochran
Solomon b. 1828-d. 1901 m. Hannah Colpit
William b. 1832–d. 1866 m. Mary Elizabeth Colpit
Elizabeth b. 1834-before 1880 census m. Patrick Kelley
Elisha b. Oct 1837-d. 1914 m. 1 Nathalie Sarah Thibodeau; m2 Phoebe Sparks
Soloma b. 1842-d.? m. James Langley
There may been children who died young. The above children are either found living with their parents in 1850 census for Caribou or from other information.

The Tidd family were out of New York Elias Tidd was part of King’s American Rangers
William Brown was a Loyalist part of 3rd New Jersey Volunteers
Other Brown (and perhaps relatives of William) who were also part of the Third New Jersey Volunteers were
Adam, John, Jonathan.
Adam settled in St. John
John Brown and Jonathan Brown were also living in the greater Woodstock area of Carleton County, New Brunswick.

The way the statement goes it would seem that Brown came in 1827. He’s also in the 1830 Washington County Census listed under Aroostook. pg.19 transcript of such. Also on microfilm.We were not our own county then. Same vol. pg 23 from Deane and Kavanaugh report of 1831 states he’s been here 2 yrs.
The Roe and Colby Atlas fo 1877 has some Brown lots listed. I don’t know how far back the grantor/grantee books at the registry of Deeds goes. there may be useful info there.

I am searching for Elias E. Brown who married a Jane. Some people have her listed as Jane Green and some Jane Danford. I am unable to get past her.
Elias E. Brown is the son of Elisha Brown and Nathalie Sarah Thibodeau.
